SFC: Building One For The Future

The superiority of a football club does not only depend on the line of players and its management. Every successful team has many contributing factors that make them belong in their own class.

In the modern football atmosphere, the entire coaching line-up is the backbone in propelling and driving the success of a team. Just look at how the elite European clubs spend millions of dollars as an investment in perfecting their coaching staff and head coach (manager).

The same formula is trying to be emulated at Selangor FC when shaping a solid coaching line-up as the main thrust for the club to progress in the near future.

Selangor FC has made the Asian stage a realistic target for the club to compete again. Therefore, the development of this club needs to be done bottoms up, from the grassroots to the highest level, by providing a platform for the empowerment of young players as their long-term plan.

With the appointment of Michael Feitchtenbeiner as technical director of SFC in the 2019 season, who is a credible talent development figure in German, SFC did not look back and introduced the DNA of Selangor football.

This football identity will be the main reference for all Selangor football teams from the youth team, the President's Cup, the Selangor 2 feeder team to the main squad.

Last November, SFC finally announced a new head coach who will continue this ideology by introducing Karsten Neitzel. Coach Karsten, who has extensive experience in German football and has polished many football talents in the country, is seen as the last piece of the puzzle and the perfect fit to realize the Red Giants' vision and mission.

For his debut season in the M League, Coach Karsten will be assisted by two experienced local assistant coaches, Adam Abdullah who has passed the AFC Professional Diploma Coaching Course (PSSI), and Nazliazmi Mohamad Nasir who once led Selangor to the 2018 FA Cup final.

Meanwhile, another coach from the German league, Carsten Nuelle who has joined the team since last January was named as the goalkeeper coach and will carry three Selangor goalie under his wings.

The combination of a local fitness coach, Khairul Anwar Mohd Isa, and another German, Soren Wrede will use their expertise to ensure the fitness of all SFC players is at the best level ahead of every match that will be faced throughout the season.

Apart from the coaches, Selangor FC officials are Mafizul Rashid (manager), Nazzab Hidzan (assistant manager), Helber Richard (physio), Azman Ahmad (kit man), Halimee Yusof & Fadhli Zahari (masseur), Norasrudin Sulaiman (analyst), Dr. Vijayan Munusamy (team doctor), and Amirol Azmi (fitness assistant).

As a result, local and foreign expertise has been incorporated into the SFC coaching staff to ensure that the club is more progressive and capable of achieving success in the future.

Selangor supporters need to understand that the SFC restructuring process is something that will take time before the results can be reaped in the future. The synergy between the coaching staff present from various backgrounds and expertise will ensure that this club is on the right track to return to action in Asia with its own football DNA injection.

Selangor FC wishes good luck to the coaches and officers of the Red Giants' main team to manage the team and hopefully, the Red Giants team will achieve success for the 2021 season.

Demi kebanggaan!
